I was brought up in little district, with little to no acquaintances and woods around my residence. I didn't have any area to play in or grounds to run up and down. I am a parent of two now, and the grateful owner of an outdoor swing set. There are days when I simply can't deal with my young children and all I can do is to move them outdoor to play on it. Without having the swings and slide to keep them focused I don't get a break very easily. So it makes me wonder how my mother survived. I recall climbing trees and hiking down trails in the forest to keep myself involved. Being an avid book reader I could occupy myself for a lot of time in just the particulars of a story. But I never had an outdoor swing set unluckily.

I don't think children nowadays have it better than we did back then, but I do believe they have it easier. The lifestyle these days involves so little effort in order for it to obtain entertainment. My children can sit down and enter a different time without so much thinking about the word vision much less using one. The games are all interactive and full of graphics that are even better than movies I used to be so thrilled to see in the cinemas twice each year. Whether you feel this is better, but a majority will agree that it is not good.

Looks like more has transformed than just the year, we have traded in outdoor activities for outdoor swing sets.
