Some Of Improvements In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar
Iscar is starting a completely new unique milling system utilizing tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has noteworthy advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has additional cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in increased performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the perimeter of a variety of milling cutter types, providing unsurpassed conditions also for heavy-duty applications with wonderful surface quality, saving several other finishing operations. Mills are offered for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.
Each carbide insert includes eight cutting edges, four for right-hand and 4 for left-hand cutting, upgrading the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges supply on one side strong and definitive clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The usefulness of this positive axial rake design diminishes the cutting forces owed to softer cut and easier penetration into the material, as well as changing force direction which is required for use on up-to-date machining centers with pallet systems less solid than on the conventional transfer lines.
In regular applications like in the auto industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch empowering the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the auto industry it is common to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be utilized.
New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal
Contemporary progress coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade movement, which guarantees that they are looking to the future. The new Upgrade campaign, planned to be made public at the end of year 2008, will offer new tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction applications, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to enhance productivity on the shop floor and to raise profits.
Iscar's focus for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate formations, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle functionality. Iscar's future trends include new carbide insert grades for effective and money-saving machining, more cutting edges per insert and exceptional tangential clamping apparatus which can significantly cut down the cutting stresses. The launching of the AL-TEC, PVD coating essentially for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating essentially for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for refined strength will revolutionize the way industry machines cast iron. Moreover, Iscar manufacturing mini inserts is an additional progression within the Upgrade movement, referring to decreasing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to simplify fine pitch configuration which will quicken feed rates. In addition, the small size of the carbide inserts and their tangential location in the pockets make possible a much greater core diameter, in terms of tool configuration, when compared to typical radially positioned inserts.
Iscar Adds Their Latest Innovations To A Long Line Of Effective Hole Producing Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.
Some Developments Have Extended Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Expanded Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
Iscar Recently Made Public Numerous Original Lines To Enlarge Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
New Cutters And Carbide Insert Arrangements From Iscar To Better Maximize The Machining Method
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.
New End Mills Coming From Iscar Will Amplify Productivity While Reducing Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
